Terms & Conditions – Classes

Booking and payment

  • To book a place in on of our classes, a deposit of 50% of the total price of the class must be paid at time of booking.

  • The remaining amount must be paid before the class starts.

  • You have the option of paying the full class price at the time of booking if preferred.

  • Deposits are non-refundable.

  • You may transfer any spaces booked to another person, however the original booker must contact the shop to inform us. If we have not been informed we reserve the right to turn away anyone other than the original booker.

  • There is no deposit option for a childs class – full payment must be made at time of booking and we regret that this is currently non-refundable

  • Classes require a minimum number of particpants to run. If this minimum is not met 24hrs before the class is scheduled to start, we reserve the right to cancel. All payments will be refunded in full.
  • Some spaces are available for last minute bookings on the day; however to ensure a smooth and prompt start to the class, all last minute bookings must be made and confirmed a minimum of an hour before the start time
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry without refund, to anyone arriving more than 5minutes late for a class. Please call to inform us you will arrive late.


  • If full payment has been made, we will refund you 50% if cancelled in advance, however the deposit remains non-refundable.

  • Any refunds will be processed through PayPal if booked online, or you can collect in person if booked in store.

  • Bookings made online cannot be refunded in store.

  • Cancellations can be made via email, Facebook messenger or using our contact us form.

  • Deposits may be refunded if the space can be filled, however this is at our discretion. Please cancel no later than 24hrs before the class to allow for re-advertising. We will contact you directly if a refund will be issued.

  • Refunds from full payment will only be given if we are informed a minimum of 1hour before the start of the class that you will no longer be attending.
  • A full refund will be given if Mad Notions is required to cancel the class. You will be notified of this at least 24hrs in advance.

Childrens Classes (Saturday Mornings & School Holidays)

  • Childrens’ classes/workshops are suitable for age 5-11yrs (P1-7).

  • If your child is 5yrs old, however has not yet started primary school, we reserve the right to ask them not to attend – this is due to the nature of some classes requiring independent skills such as cutting etc.

  • Please contact us if your child is 4yrs old but has started P1 as, depending on class content, they may be able to attend some classes.

  • Parents must complete and sign a consent form before the session starts to allow their child to take part in the class.

  • Parents may remain in the shop for the duration of the class, however the space available for waiting will be a separate room and we cannot provide you with space in the classroom to sit with your child.

  • Please contact us before the class if you would like to stay with your child so we can ensure there is a seat available.

Age ranges for other classes

  • All other classes will have a suitable age range advertised. Please note that anyone under the age of 12yrs must have a full paying adult (18+) to accompany them. We can offer a reduced adult & child offer for certain classes. Please contact us for further details.

  • We reserve the right to adapt our age ranges as required, however these changes will be advertised on our website in advance. Any bookings already made will also be informed via email or telephone.

  • Anyone who turns up to a class that is not age appropriate will be asked to leave and no refund will be given in respect to any monies paid for that class.
